The Letter

Penny and I were recently digging into the corner of the closet and found an old plaque with this letter on it in neat calligraphy:

Dear Friend,

How are you?  I just had to send a note to tell  you how much I care about you.

I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends.  I waited all day hoping you would want to talk with Me too.  I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you ~ and I waited.  You never came.

It hurt Me ~ but I still love you because I am your friend.

I saw you sleeping last night and I longed to touch your brow so I spilled moonlight upon your face.  Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk.  I have so many gifts for you!  You awoke and rushed off so busy.  My tears were in the rain.

If you would only listen to Me!  I love you!  I try to tell you in blue skies and in the quiet green grass.  I whisper it in leaves on the trees and breathe it in colors of flowers, shout it to you in mountain streams, give the birds love songs to sing.  I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents.  My love for you is deeper than the ocean, and bigger than the biggest need in your heart!

Ask Me!  Talk to Me!  Please don’t forget Me.  I have so much to share with you!

I won’t hassle you any further.  It is your decision.  I have chosen you and I will wait.

I love you.

Your Friend,

Jesus

Wow, the part about the moonlight was so touching to me because we have just had a full moon.  The moonlight has been streaming across my pillow!  I had to try to get pictures for you.  There is no way to catch the immense peacefulness I felt as I stood out there in the chilly stillness of the snow last night trying to get these pictures.  And who can capture the essence of the Father’s love poured out so generously and so all-sufficient for all our heart’s needs?

Although I am sure you send out thousands of emails to people…I really needed to see the one you sent today. Even if you yourself, don’t think you help someone out in their day I am here to tell you, you do. You helped me and thank you for sending such an inspiring and inspirational email. 🙂

Thank you, Roxie, though I don’t really send out thousands of emails – I’m just a small blog, it is always very nice to have someone take the time to respond. I am glad that my sharing what encouraged me, has also been an encouragement to you.
And for those who have asked, yes, that last moon picture was taken by me, on my average camera, standing just outside my back door. Simply amazing, isn’t it? Studying the sky is a very effective way to put us in our place and make us humans feel very, very small!

I definitely concur!

Oh Becky, thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. I am not very tec smart so don’t
Know how to do the blog post for an email. On blogger I have people I follow on my side bar and when they post it shows up there. On the scripture writings I do a chapter or topic that I am studying so I am not following a list. That just does not work for me. If you know me , I am always trying to do something different. It has been amazing to me to see also as I lean on the lord and what Ideas He gives me. I am surpized as anyone when thing come out good, and someone else likes it too!
May God bless you!
Sharon
