Teddy Bear Picnic

You are invited to a teddy bear picnic.

This pretty picnic basket is handmade in Peru.

Inside are beautiful wooden dishes from the homeland of my friend Veronica.

These are made from a jungle wood native to Peru called zapote.

Welcome friends, I am glad you came.  Please enjoy this meal prepared for you!

Bartholomew brought sesame seeds to share.

Freddy Bear asks Sweetie Pie if she’d like a cup of tea.

Anyone need another napkin?

Rufus lives in Penny’s dollhouse, he is enjoying this furry gathering.

How about a pot of honey served with a cinnamon stick?

Woody says if nobody else wants the rest of the marmalade, he would be happy to finish it.

Bartholomew leans back with a very full tummy.

“Too full for dessert?” asks Penny.

“Oh no, no, I could fit in a wee bit more, I think!”

After the meal, the teddies gather to ask for a story.

“Please read about Paddington, the bear from Peru, who loves marmalade!”

Paddington gets in a big drippy mess after eating a sticky bun.

The Browns kindly invite him to their home to take a bath.

The children, Judy and Jonathan Brown, look forward to this new unusual guest from “Deepest, Darkest Peru,”  who seems to bring interesting catastrophes wherever he goes.

This poster has such a sweet teddy bear poem,  (but its too glossy for a good picture – sorry!)

Learn to listen like a Teddy Bear,

With ears open and mouth closed tight.

Learn to forgive like a Teddy Bear,

With heart open, not caring who is right.

Learn to love like a Teddy Bear,

With arms open, and imperfect eyesight.
